The Fight▾
Resistance is the signature stat: [Ironbrand] can only be RESISTED, never blocked or removed, and it does nothing by itself — it multiplies Doomsday Machine damage by how many turns are left on it. Duration is a RANK ORDER across your own five: highest DEF gets the longest brand, next-highest one turn less, and so on (7/6/5… since Patch 8.60, was 10/9/8); Ruinous Swath ranks by ATK instead of DEF. Single-hit only (each subsequent hit of a multi-hit skill does -50%). Poison is 90% less effective; HP Burn is capped at 50k per tick; incoming MAX-HP-scaled damage is capped at 10%. The boss gains 10% TM every time an ally receives a buff — run buff-light. At HP thresholds the twins strip ALL debuffs off themselves and fire a missile barrage at the whole team, so short cooldowns beat raw chance. 50% Dec ACC halves boss ACC: resist target drops ~505→305 (st.13-15), ~355→230 (7-12), ~205→155 (1-6).
Team
Stag KnightSA2 Huntmaster: 70% chance of a 60% Dec DEF + 50% Dec ATK on all enemies in one skill, and it applies no buffs to your team. 6★ built, unbooked — booking A2 (chance 70%→95% plus Cooldown −1) is the single biggest remaining upgrade this team has. HH 9/10, Ayumi 5★.5★
MorrigaineMA2 Shriek of the Banshee has a 75% chance to steal all buffs, and against a BOSS it places a 50% Dec ACC for 2 turns instead of True Fear — that is the debuff that halves the resist wall. A1 is a SINGLE hit (no multi-hit penalty) with a 50% chance of 30% Dec SPD. Geared SPD/ACC/HP%/DEF% with no ATK or DEF stacking, so she sits at the bottom of the Ironbrand rank order. 6★, unbooked. DISABLE A3 Velocimancy on auto — its 30% Inc SPD on all allies is five buffs = +50% boss TM, which outweighs its 20% enemy TM cut. HH 8/10, Ayumi 4★.4★
GeomancerFHP Burn is the only viable damage-over-time here — Poison is 90% less effective, and the 50k-per-tick burn cap rewards uptime over burn size. A1 is AoE single-hit per enemy so it dodges the multi-hit penalty; A3 adds Weaken plus a TM steal. 6★, awakening 1, unbooked. HH 10/10, Ayumi 5★.5★
Aox the RemembererFAoE 50% Dec ATK with a TM cut, and his extension passive is what keeps Stag's Dec DEF/Dec ATK and Morrigaine's Dec ACC rolling through the boss's turns — that coverage is what makes dropping Gwyndolin's A1 extender safe. Also a team heal. 6★, awakening 1, BOOKED (the only booked champion in this comp). HH 9/10, Ayumi 5★.5★
VogothSPassive heals all allies for 50% of the damage he takes and Leeches attackers; applies zero buffs, so he never feeds the boss TM. A 50k-HP body with modest DEF sits at the bottom of the Ironbrand DEF rank order, so his brand is the short one. Leads with +40 ACC in all battles — the best aura left in the comp once Gwyndolin's +60 ACC leaves. 6★, awakening 1, unbooked (his A2 Provoke does nothing to a boss; the passive has no book upgrades). HH 10/10, Ayumi 5★.5★Affinity
Rotates on the potion-keep weekly schedule (Magic/Spirit/Force/Void). Off-affinity champs amplify the boss's growth effect — match the day, don't stack counter-affinity.
Levers
- ›Stack RES to the bracket threshold (155/230/305 with Dec ACC up) — Dec ACC can whiff, RES is the floor.
- ›Buffs feed the boss 10% TM each, and an AoE buff on five allies is +50% in one cast. Disable ally-buff skills on auto: Morrigaine A3 Velocimancy, Gwyndolin A3 Plumedart, Skeletor A3, Supreme Kael A3, Bad-el-Kazar A2. Gear ACC on debuffers instead of running buffers.
- ›Ironbrand length is a rank order across YOUR five champions — the highest-DEF body eats the 7-turn brand and the highest-ATK body eats it on Ruinous Swath. Favour HP-scaling bodies and keep ATK/DEF stacking off this team; that is also why Gwyndolin (ATK%/C.RATE/C.DMG) is a poor fit and Morrigaine (SPD/ACC/HP%) is a good one.
- ›HP Burn is the damage engine of choice: Poison is −90% and MAX-HP damage is capped at 10%. The burn itself is capped at 50k per tick, so burn UPTIME and count matter more than burn size.
- ›The twins strip all their own debuffs at HP thresholds and answer with a missile barrage — re-landing Dec DEF / Dec ATK / Dec ACC fast is worth more than raw debuff chance. Booked cooldowns on Stag A2 and Morrigaine A2 are the fix.
- ›Build order: Stag Knight A2 Huntmaster books first (Epic tome pool #10), then Morrigaine A2 Shriek — chance to 100% and Cooldown 4→3 (Legendary tome pool #3, already book-now), then Geomancer A3 Quicksand Grasp (Epic tome pool #2). All five seats are already 6★, so books are the only gap between Team Now and Team Ideal.
- ›SUPERSEDED: the old plan to level Bowf the Rancid into the Dec ACC seat. Morrigaine is already 6★ and rated a tier above him (HH 8/10 vs 7/10, Ayumi 4★ vs 3★); Bowf is 4★ and is not in the 6★ queue at all.
- ›GALATHIR IS A DECISION THIS RECORD SHOULD CARRY, not a swap (audit 2026-09-01). FOR: fresh HH 10/10 Iron Twins, the highest owned score for this content, on a 10/10 overall body — and his aura is 80 Ally RES in ALL BATTLES, against a first lever that reads 'Stack RES to the bracket threshold (155/230/305 with Dec ACC up) — Dec ACC can whiff, RES is the floor'. Nothing else owned moves five champions 80 RES at once. His passive cuts damage 5% per 100 RES to a 25% cap, so a RES-stacked team gets the full reduction free, and it holds him at 1 HP on a fatal hit — direct insurance against a Doomsday Machine spike. He builds RES rather than DEF, so he sits LOW in the Ironbrand DEF rank order and eats the short brand. AGAINST: he is the most buff-heavy champion on the roster and this boss gains 10% Turn Meter per buff an ally receives — base A2 puts Block Debuffs on all allies, A3 puts Perfect Veil on all allies, alt A3 puts 50% Increase ACC on all allies, each +50% boss TM in one cast — and he is two-form, so form state is not controlled on auto. HOW IT RESOLVES: auras are not buffs, so the RES costs nothing, and this record already disables ally-buff skills on auto for Morrigaine, Gwyndolin, Skeletor, Supreme Kael and Bad-el-Kazar — Galathir joins that list, contributing aura, 25% damage reduction, death prevention and a base-form A1 that attacks all enemies and fills ally Turn Meter (TM is not a buff). THE PRICE is Vogoth's damage-proportional heal and the +40 ACC aura on three debuffers. THE TEST: do Stag's Dec DEF/Dec ATK and Morrigaine's Dec ACC still land at stages 13–15 without the ACC aura?
Swaps
- ArtakM
CORRECTLY LOW, and worth recording why (audit 2026-09-01). HH 5/10. Both of his damage lines are taxed here — Poison is 90% less effective and HP Burn is capped at 50k per tick — and his A1 is a multi-hit AoE into the single-hit-only penalty.
- Khamir Scald-EyeM
BUFF PUNISHMENT MAKES HIM A NET LOSS HERE (audit 2026-09-01). HH 8/10, and his revive is genuinely valuable — but A2 gives all allies Increase ATK + Increase SPD and A3 gives all allies Increase DEF + Strengthen, and every buff an ally receives hands this boss 10% Turn Meter. His A1 is also 2 hits into the −50%-per-subsequent-hit penalty. Suggested rating: 3.
- The Cowardly LionM
DO NOT FIELD (audit 2026-09-01), despite HH 9/10 and a curated 5. Three independent mechanics turn him from an asset into a liability here. (1) BUFF PUNISHMENT: A2 buffs all allies with 60% Increase DEF + Fervor and A3 buffs all allies with Counterattack + 30% Reflect Damage — up to four buffs across five champions, and at 10% boss Turn Meter per buff received one rotation can hand the twins two extra turns. (2) INCREASE DEF ACTIVELY WORSENS IRONBRAND, whose duration is a rank order by DEF across your own five — buffing team DEF lengthens your own brands. (3) His A1 hits 3 times into this fight's −50%-per-subsequent-hit penalty. Suggested rating: 2.
- Starsage GalathirF
THE LEADER-SEAT ALTERNATIVE — see the levers for the full decision (recorded 2026-09-01). Fresh HH 10/10 Iron Twins, the highest owned score here. His 80 Ally RES aura in all battles is a bullseye on this fight's signature stat, and his RES-scaled 25% damage reduction plus death-prevention passive are free on a RES build. The catch is that his active kit is buff-heavy on a boss that gains 10% Turn Meter per buff received — seat him only with A2/A3 disabled on auto, the same discipline this record already applies to five other champions. 6★, no gear plan authored.
- Gwyndolin the SilentF
Former Dec ACC seat-holder, demoted by the 2026-07 audit. Both sources rate her a tier below Morrigaine here (HH 6/10, Ayumi 3★), her Dec ACC only lands on targets already carrying 2+ debuffs, and her ATK%/C.RATE/C.DMG build makes her the champion Ruinous Swath hands the longest Ironbrand to. Still worth fielding for her +60 ACC all-battles aura if debuffs are whiffing — but disable A3 Plumedart, its Inc ACC on all allies feeds the boss TM. 6★
- Bowf the RancidS
Dedicated AoE 50% Dec ACC at 75% base on a tanky HP healer — the fallback Dec ACC body if Morrigaine is needed elsewhere. HH 7/10 (Ayumi 3★). His A3 Healing Spritz puts Inc ACC on all allies, so it carries the same buff-TM tax. 4★, not in the 6★ queue.
- Rector DrathF
NEW from the 2026-07 audit — HH 8/10. His passive gives +50 RES to every ally under a [Veil]/[Perfect Veil] buff, a direct answer to the resist wall, and A2 veils the whole team. The catch: that is five buffs per cast = +50% boss TM, and Perfect Veil does nothing against the twins' AoEs. A tuning experiment, not a seat. 6★
- Supreme KaelV
NEW from the 2026-07 audit — HH 8/10. A2 Putrescene extends all enemy debuffs by 1 turn and CANNOT be resisted; A3 lands an unresistible 50% Dec RES. Both genuinely help land Dec ACC/Dec DEF. Held off the team because his triple Poison is 90% dead here and A3 puts Inc ACC on all allies (+50% boss TM). 6★
- SkeletorS
Debuff extension, buff-steal, and an A2 that swaps Petrification for a 50% Dec ATK + 30% Dec SPD against bosses; +60 ACC aura. HH 8/10. His A3 Inc ACC buff on all allies feeds boss TM. 5★
- Royal GuardM
HH 7/10 (Ayumi 4★): single-hit A1 carrying 60% Dec DEF (no multi-hit penalty) and an A2 that scales off enemy MAX HP — capped at 10% here, but still clean damage on a boss with a huge pool. His A3 hits 4 times, which eats the −50%-per-subsequent-hit rule for damage, though each hit still rolls 60% Dec SPD and −25% TM. A1/A2 are the money skills. 6★ BUILT.
- Bad-el-KazarF
HH 9/10 Iron Twins, but read the caveat: his A2 Malice puts TWO Continuous Heal buffs on ALL allies, and this boss gains 10% TM per buff an ally receives — that is up to +100% boss TM per cast. Re-verified against Ayumilove 2026-07. His A1 Dark Sphere (AoE, heals the team 20% of damage) is clean; field him only if the tune can afford the A2 turns, otherwise he is a trap here despite the rating. 5★, 6★ built.
- MeroukaM
HH 8/10. A DEF-stacking Orc body with a cleanse and a 50%-MAX-HP single-target heal (note: cleanse cannot touch Ironbrand, which is unremovable). Her A1 is a double hit with only a 15% Dec SPD chance per hit at base, and her A3 Revive on Death buffs all five allies — same buff-TM tax. DEF stacking also pulls her toward the long end of the Ironbrand order. 4★
- Kurzad DeepheartV
Backup 60% Dec DEF; team Inc ACC = 5 buffs = +50% boss TM, a liability here. 3★
- Vallaryn the EqualizerM
Team-wide Weaken if Geomancer sits; execute (10% cap) and Heal Reduction do nothing vs this boss. HH 7/10 but Ayumilove rates her 2★ here — treat as contested. 5★
- AnaxS
Budget Dec DEF/Dec ACC/Weaken in one body and the only other 6★ Dec ACC source; outclassed by Stag and Morrigaine, poison dead, 2-hit A1 penalized. HH 5/10. 6★
Alternative Comps
Ideal (fully built)
dream teamIf every owned champ were 6★, booked and geared — the build-goal lineup.
Identical to Team Now — all five seats are already 6★, so the only gap is skill tomes. Stag Dec DEF/Dec ATK + Morrigaine boss-Dec ACC is the debuff spine, Aox's extension passive keeps it all up, Geomancer burns, Vogoth sustains and leads (+40 ACC). Books outstanding: Stag A2, Morrigaine A2, Geomancer A3. Nothing in the owned roster displaces a seat at full build; the Bowf and Dilgol/Kurzad build plans for this content are cancelled.
